Domain-Driven Design DDD in Modern Software Architecture Bits and Pieces

domain-driven design

Responsible for representing concepts of the business, information about the business situation, and business rules. You’ll find in this article an introduction to Domain-Driven Design that mostly follows what is explained in Eric Evans’ book. Other implementations and vocabulary also exist, as well as similar architectures sharing the same principles, such as clean architecture and hexagonal architecture. In Domain-Driven Design, business logic is considered to be the heart of the software.

Representing the underlying domain was a key part of much work in the database and object-oriented communities throughout the 1980s and 1990s. A repository, for instance, is an object with methods for retrieving domain objects from a data store (e.g. a database). Similarly, a factory is an object with methods for directly creating domain objects. With this article, we wanted to define the core concepts around domain-driven design. Moreover, we wanted to explain them, adding the advantages and downsides of the approach.

domain-driven design

Value Object

Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) is an architectural pattern for separating reading data (a 'query') from writing to data (a 'command'). CQRS derives from Command and Query Separation (CQS), coined by Bertrand Meyer. When part of a program's functionality does not conceptually belong to any object, it is typically expressed as a service. Lets say, we are developing a ride-hailing application called “RideX.” The system allows users to request rides, drivers to accept ride requests, and facilitates the coordination of rides between users and drivers.

This was also the extent to which a large number of developers from my generation learned about software design. B) The community around Java appeared to be mostly focused on enterprise application patterns and frameworks. See here for the list of building blocks for DDD applications. Join 15,000+ other value-creating React, TypeScript & Node.js devs mastering The Essentials of software design, architecture & testing. Repository interfaces are declared in the Domain Layer, but the repositories themselves are implemented in the Infrastructure Layer. Domain modeling is the activity of describing the domain knowledge with concepts and structures that will help reason about the domain and implement it.

Students could sign up, create their profile and apply to jobs. Employers could sign up, post jobs, browse students and invite them to apply to the jobs they've posted. In 2017, I started working on an application called Univjobs, a marketplace for Canadian students and recent-grads to find co-op jobs, gigs and entry-level jobs and internships. Don’t forget to check back on the code example from the beginning to see how all of it combined in real code.

But, for those more technical projects, you might want to consider a different software development life cycle, like OOAD or an Iterative Model. Large and complicated systems have countless entities and value objects. This will put them into logical groups that will be easier to manage.

DDD Blogs

They encapsulate behavior and data related to a specific concept within the domain. Also if the system does not solve business needs, then it is of no use to anyone. No matter how pretty it looks or how well the architecture its infrastructure are. “Design” refers to the process of creating a plan or blueprint for the software system. This includes decisions about how the system will be structured, how different components will interact, and how the system will fulfill its functional and non-functional requirements.

What is DDD

Yet the most significant complexity of many applications is not technical. It is in the domain itself, the activity or business of the user. When this domain complexity is not dealt with in the design, it won’t matter that the infrastructural technology is well-conceived. A successful design must systematically deal with this central aspect of the software. DDD manages this complexity by decomposing the domain into smaller subdomains. Then it establishes a consistent language within each subdomain so that everyone understands the problem (and the solution) without ambiguity.

This helps the whole team and especially new joiners to understand the implications of changes. For each of those domains that take care of a small part of your system, you need to identify which information is core to that domain so that the domain can be focused. For the building process of models, DDD stresses collaboration within the team and, more importantly, getting advice from real experts in that domain. Domain-Driven Design (DDD) is an approach to modeling complex software. Its overall intention is to help you identify the crucial parts of your product that will have the most impact on business. DDD helps increase productivity, efficiency, and maintainability of complex domains.

The mantra has been, "Make it work. Make it right. Make it fast." Popular practices include immediate fixes and quick prototypes. Entities are objects with distinct identities that are defined by their attributes. Value Objects, on the other hand, are objects defined by their attributes but without a distinct identity. They represent concepts like dates, money, or geographical coordinates. The Ubiquitous Language is a common, shared language that both technical and non-technical team members use to discuss the domain. It ensures that everyone understands the domain's terms and concepts.

While DJ and Chowder are still watching the house, Zee comes in and asks if they have seen Bones as he never returned the previous night. The boys realize that Bones has been eaten by the house after learning about the beer bottle, as the boys tell her. Zee thinks that the boys are telling stories and she goes out to find Bones. DJ is given the dynamite, and he and Jenny get accidentally thrown into the huge pit where a lake has been drained. Chowder managed to bring the house down into the pit where it crumbled to pieces. Thinking that they won, they cheered until the house starts to reconstruct itself by making it a deformed monstrosity.

Despite his immaturity, he is shown to be civil when interacting with Jenny. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, please feel free to contribute. After the incident with the Monster House, Chowder and Jenny still remained close friends and he was not jealous of Jenny starting a romantic relationship with DJ. Chowder formally had a crush on Jenny but remained friends with her.

Role in the Film:

The front door opens into a gaping maw lined with cracked boards for teeth. And its tongue (a long red carpet) lashes out at trespassers, dragging them across the threshold. That’s because the building and surrounding property are possessed by the spirit of Nebbercracker’s dead wife, who is about to unleash her rage on a parade of trick-or-treaters unless DJ, Chowder and their new friend, Jenny, can intervene. Reuniting with Chowder in a circus-like room, they find the remains of Constance, and unsuccessfully attempt to douse the furnace, resulting in all three of them being separated again by massive pipes. The three then have to fight their way through the corridors while dealing with more enemies, reuniting again at the entry hallway, where they get the house to spit them out by pulling on the uvula.

Chowder's Parents

Nebbercracker thanks DJ, Chowder, and Jenny for freeing him and Constance after 45 years of being trapped. That night, children in their Halloween costumes are lined up at the site of Nebbercracker's house, where DJ, Chowder, and Jenny help him return all of the toys to their owners. Jenny's parents pick her up and DJ and Chowder decide to go out trick-or-treating, which they had previously thought they were too old for. DJ, Chowder, and Jenny then fall into the basement and find an enormous collection of toys accumulated from Nebbercracker's lawn, as well as a locked cage that DJ opens with a key he found on the lawn. They find the body of Constance the Giantess, Nebbercracker's wife, encased in cement.

Feature films

DJ tries to recover it but is caught by Nebbercracker, who rages at him before apparently suffering a heart attack and being taken away in an ambulance and Chowder heads back home. Later, DJ and Chowder spy on the house but Chowder refuses to believe the house is possesed. He crawls up to the house, and on his way he finds a beer bottle (left by the drunk Bones).

FILM STILLS

Chowder comes to hang out with him and asks if DJ is going trick or treating, but DJ says that he is not, as he thinks he has gotten too grown up, much to Chowder's shock. As DJ scored two goals in the basketball hoop, Chowder tries to make a score, but the ball bounces off the metal bar and hits Chowder in the head. To his annoyance, however, Chowder is not hurt at all, and says that he is acting like a dork. He is also a bright young boy who came to believe that there's something more in Mr. Nebbercracker's habit of taking items that ended up in his lawn and scaring away any children who get too close to his home and will do anything to get the bottom of it.

Spiritual Elements

And Chowder later investigate and learn that the house is possessed by a poltergeist. On Halloween, they save Jennifer "Jenny" Bennett, who is selling candy, from the house. Jenny calls police officers Landers and Lister, but the house stays quiet when the officers arrive and they dismiss the report. Trapped inside the house, the trio discover some of Nebbercracker's early life, from his army days, and his marriage to Constance, whose cement-coated remains they find in the basement, along with the toys Nebbercracker confiscated. The house attacks them once it finds out they are inside; Chowder is lured into a trap by his ball and ensnared by several bed springs, while Jenny is sucked up into a pipe, though DJ is able to evade capture. The three escape by attacking the house's uvula, which Chowder earlier mistook for the heart, causing it to puke them out.

Finally freed, her spirit briefly reunites with Nebbercracker before ascending to the afterlife and he then thanks the trio for freeing them from their suffering. On the day before Halloween, 12-year-old Dustin James "D.J." Walters documents his elderly neighbor, Horace Nebbercracker, stealing a little girl's tricycle and scaring her away from his house, one of many similar incidents that have occurred. That same day, D.J.'s parents leave for a convention, placing him in the care of his teenage babysitter Elizabeth, or Zee. Later, D.J.'s friend, Charles "Chowder" Peterson, loses his basketball on Nebbercracker's lawn; D.J. He appears to suffer a heart attack and is presumed dead by the duo as he is taken away in an ambulance.

When the house becomes a living, breathing monster, DJ enlists his pals Chowder and Jenny to learn the secrets of what it is that somehow brought the house to life. Suddenly, they find themselves in a hair-raising battle with an unstoppable entity and together, they must save their neighborhood from total devastation. Chowder's house is only seen briefly in one scene where DJ calls Chowder regarding his concerns about Nebbercracker's house as he is playing a video game. The game culminates in them trying to deal with the furnace, which Jenny is initially too scared to do, but overcomes her fear with encouragement from DJ and Chowder (in the GameBoy Advance version). While in the DS version, they end up having to deal with the house directly, with the lawn serving as a battle arena. While exploring the second floor, he finds Jenny trapped in an air vent, and tries to free her, to no avail.

The three realize that no one is going to believe their experience with the house and decided to keep it to themselves. DJ first appeared witnessing Mr. Nebbercracker confiscating a little girl's tricycle, much to Mrs. Walters' chagrin. Mr. and Mrs. Walters inform DJ that they will leave town for the weekend for a dentist's convention and have called Zee to take care of him in their stead.

As in most ghost stories, the fright stands in for other emotions — grief, disappointment, loneliness — and the film’s climactic sequences combine hair-raising sensation with dreamy and delicate pathos. The plain suburban setting becomes (as it did in “E.T.” and Mr. Zemeckis’s “Back to the Future” movies) a zone of enchantment, in no small part because it seems so real. While Chowder says that he is not and when it is an accident, they called it a "manslaughter". As DJ prepares to throw up (puke), Zee arrives and Chowder goes home. DJ goes up to his room while Zee listens to music on the radio and calls someone while DJ puts the key on his desk and goes to bed. Monster House was released theatrically by Sony Pictures Releasing on July 21, 2006.

Later, DJ and Chowder spy on the house but Chowder refuses to believe the house is possessed. He crawls up to the house, and on his way, he finds a beer bottle and chugs it. Chowder emerges from the ground and imitates Nebbercracker on the porch, then rings the doorbell then house wakes up and is disturbed when it finds Chowder and DJ on its property. The carpet comes out to get Chowder, and later DJ, but they escape. The trio consults supernatural expert Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, who speculates the house must be a rare type of monster created by the fusion of a human's spirit and a man-made object that can only be unbound when its heart is struck. Ascertaining that the presumably-deceased Nebbercracker is the cause, the trio construct a dummy filled with cough syrup Chowder stole from a pharmacy owned by his father.

Chowder enters a circus-themed area where he plays games to find the missing eye and nose of the clown on a merry-go-around to move forward and reunites with DJ and Jenny. DJ tells Nebbercracker it is time to let Constance go, but she overhears. The house breaks free from the foundation, with trees to support it (the arms), and chases the group to a nearby construction site.

Convinced that he’s responsible for causing Nebbercracker’s death and invoking the wrath of the monster house, DJ feels it’s up to him to stop the madness. He and Chowder rush to warn Jenny, a prep school girl selling candy door to door, not to ring Nebbercracker’s bell. All three of the children act bravely, putting themselves at risk to conquer evil. That night, DJ has a nightmare where the house's shadow prepares to grab him and he wakes up when he receives phone calls from Mr. Nebbercracker's house with no-one on the other end. DJ eavesdrop on Zee's boyfriend, Bones, who tells Zee about losing his kite on Nebbercracker's lawn when he was younger, and that Nebbercracker supposedly ate his wife. DJ finds one of the house's windows blinds (the eyelids) opening up, DJ thinking that he is being haunted, prepares to investigate the house with Chowder's help.

Apple Tower Theatre opens Thursday in downtown Los Angeles

The company is estimated to employ more than 1,500 people in Los Angeles through Apple TV+, Apple Music and other ventures. Apple previously announced it aims to grow the Culver City office to more than 3,000 employees by 2026. The campus, dubbed Culver Crossings, would include two four- and five-story buildings stretching across 4.5 acres between National, Washington and Venice boulevards. The 1.1-million-square-foot Broadway Trade Center across the street from the Tower is set to be redeveloped into an office, hotel and retail complex, but remains unfinished. The stretch of Broadway near Olympic Boulevard where the former theater lies was one of the most up-and-coming before the pandemic, with new apartments and renovations of historic offices and stores, Moore said. Apple conducted forensic paint studies “and literally peeled back history” to reveal the original details and luminous light colors that gave the Tower Theatre its beauty, said architect Doo Ho Lee, design director for Apple’s retail stores.

“It has a real sense of procession and dynamic theater as one circulates through the space,” he said. Looking back toward the entrance, visitors see a stained-glass window depicting a fleur-de-lis pattern and a celluloid film strip. Our favorite thing about Snow-Line isn’t just that it’s a great orchard, it’s also a fully functioning winery. Whether you’re planning a day date or you simply can’t be around your family for more than two hours without drinking, this historic Oak Glen orchard is a great option. They don’t offer any U-pick apples, but they do have a vast array for purchase, along with jams, sauces, pie fillings, and their famous mini cider donuts. Referencing the golden era of talkies and films, the new Forum reinstates the screen under the proscenium arch.

A Building Steeped in History

Director Will Gluck told The Hollywood Reporter that he wanted the film set in Sydney because he had “really fallen in love with the city” and liked it so much he moved his family there. Signal didn’t immediately have a comment and Telegram didn’t respond to a request for comment. Stone Soup Farm might only be six acres, but they pack quite a bit into their Oak Glen space. There’s a 130-year-old heirloom apple orchard filled with varieties ranging from Fuji to McIntosh, archery fields, seasonal gardens, an interactive kid’s area, and perhaps most importantly, excellent spots for photos. In April, Apple said that it would spend $430 billion while creating 20,000 jobs in the United States over the next five years.

Apple’s design team relied on historical photos and architectural drawings as well as modern 3-D laser scans to aid the renovation, which included seismic upgrades. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said the change is about setting a standard for quality of care. Allies of older adults have sought the regulation for decades, but the rules drew pushback from the nursing home industry. “This is about dignity, and it’s about dignity that we as a society owe to those in particular who care for the least of these,” she said.

Apple occupies about 500,000 square feet of offices in the area now, Durnin said. Apple wants to build its 536,000-square-foot regional headquarters cloaked in designer copper. Built on a small site for a theater and seating only 900, it was designed in Renaissance Revival style with innovative French, Spanish, Moorish and Italian elements cast in terra cotta, according to the Los Angeles Conservancy. It was one of the finest theaters in the city when it opened in 1927 to show silent films, but it was soon converted to show talking pictures and hosted the Los Angeles premiere of “The Jazz Singer,” starring Al Jolson.

We are located in beautiful Warren County at the Northern Entrance to the spectacular Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park. Good food, friendly staff and beautiful surroundings make the Apple House a landmark to visit in Virginia. President Joe Biden first announced his plan to set nursing home staffing levels in his 2022 State of the Union address. Current law only requires that nursing homes have “sufficient” staffing, leaving it up to states for interpretation. “The beautiful entrance is now fully restored to its opening glory,” Lee said. Notable details include a grand staircase with bronze handrails flanked by marble Corinthian columns and surrounded by balcony landings set off by a crystal chandelier.

The central dome of the theater’s ceiling has been reinterpreted with a fresco of the calming golden sunshine of the southern Californian sky, adding dynamism and color to space. Apple Tower Theatre, Apple’s newest store in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, has opened to visitors. The design seeks to reinvigorate one of LA’s most historic movie theaters by giving the building a new purpose and restoring its lost glory. The unveiling of Apple Tower Theatre is a significant part of the larger urban regeneration of downtown LA that will strengthen urban retail and community life in this part of the city.

Though Willowbrook Apple Farm has technically only been open since 2004, the orchard on the property was planted over a century ago - so there’s still plenty of history here. This popular orchard is typically open on weekends and offers U-pick apples, wine tastings, a cider press, and a small petting zoo featuring Delilah the mini pig, who, according to their website, enjoys “belly rubs and yummy snacks.” Same, Delilah. The Today at Apple will be a new magnet for the public, inspiring people and transforming the entire store, including the upstairs balcony, into a theatrical event space. The Cupertino, Calif.-based company currently has more than 1,500 employees in Culver City and L.A., including workers at Apple TV+ and Apple Music as well as engineers and teams working on artificial intelligence and machine learning. “It’s a bold expansion,” said Petra Durnin, head of market analytics at Raise Commercial Real Estate. “These streaming giants are betting on the strength of demand for content even after the pandemic is over” and more people leave their homes again for entertainment.

A discreet set of stairs and elevators also bring visitors to the balcony level, which hosts the best seats in the house to view the Forum. The generous leather theater-style seats with integrated electrical and data points are the perfect spot for visitors to relax while they wait for their Genius appointments. Located just beneath the theater’s projectionist windows, it offers a complete snapshot of the theater in all its restored glory. Designed in 1927 by prolific motion picture theater designer, S Charles Lee, Tower Theatre was the first movie theater in Los Angeles built to show talking movies.

The new buildings, which would rise up to 75 feet in height, would not include street-fronting commercial uses - though entrances are planned along both National and Venice Boulevards, and perimeter landscaping is planned. The new structures would have a C-shaped footprint, wrapping around a central landscaped courtyard with outlets to an adjoining access alley to the east and Washington Boulevard to the south. This is the new gathering place for the Los Angeles community to discover Apple’s products and services, get support, and participate in free Apple sessions and learn new skills from their Creatives, or visit the Genius Bar to get hands-on technical support. Their Specialists will answer your questions and get you set up before you leave. Apple revolutionized personal technology with the introduction of the Macintosh in 1984.

Apple, as part of a $430-billion U.S. investment plan, previously announced its intent to grow the Culver City office to more than 3,000 employees by the year 2026. Apple did not say what development company would build the new buildings or when construction might start. The new facilities will incorporate environmentally sustainable building features and be powered by 100% renewable energy, spokeswoman Rachel Tulley said. The company could break ground on the second, 369,000-square-foot building in fall 2023 and be completed by late 2025, with the entire complex expected to be open in 2026. Plans call for 58,000 square feet of open space, including a 51,600-square-foot courtyard and a 7,120-square-foot public plaza facing Washington Boulevard. The neighborhood began to improve when the Ace hotel and theater complex opened there in 2014 in the former United Artists building and became a popular destination for lodging and entertainment.

Apple’s five software platforms — iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS — provide seamless experiences across all Apple devices and empower people with breakthrough services including the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Pay, and iCloud. Apple’s more than 100,000 employees are dedicated to making the best products on earth, and to leaving the world better than we found it. Apple now occupies 500,000 square feet of space in and around Culver City, including a 128,000-square-foot building that it leases just south of the new campus site. The Broadway theater that introduced Angelenos to “talkie” movies nearly a century ago is throwing open its doors Thursday in a vastly different entertainment era as a gilded Apple store. The tech giant intends the retail and event space to be one of its most prominent and a symbol of its emergence as a creative force in Hollywood.

The Romanesque 19th-century building is actually a five-level shopping center with fashion boutiques, jewelry stores, cafes, and restaurants. The historic Jones Bay Wharf is another familiar filming location in Anyone But You. The hidden gem in the Pyrmont district is home to fine dining restaurants, charming cafes, and beautiful views the of the city and Harbour Bridge. Palm Beach

The federal government is for the first time requiring nursing homes to have minimum staffing levels after the COVID-19 pandemic exposed grim realities in poorly staffed facilities. The change will mean more staff at these facilities, fewer emergency room visits for residents and peace of mind for caregivers, who will be able to spend more time with their patients, Harris said. An immaculately restored grand staircase takes visitors to the upper levels, while the lobby opens up to the soaring volume of the main theatre hall at ground level, which has been completely transformed into a majestic display area. The intricate historic plaster detailing on the walls and ceiling, dating back to the 1920s, has been carefully restored and enhanced.

Last month, Apple announced plans to redevelop properties near the intersection of Venice and National Boulevards into a new office campus. An initial study published this week by Culver City offers a closer look at what the iPhone maker has in store. In a sign that competition among streaming entertainment providers will stay heated in the years ahead, Apple announced Friday that it will roughly double its office presence in the Culver City area where Apple TV+ is based. The new development would double Apple’s footprint in Culver City, where its streaming service is based. It would also replace an entire block of office and industrial buildings Apple bought in late 2020 for $162 million.

The proposed campus, when completed, is expected to double Apple's footprint in the Los Angeles area. The company currently occupies approximately 500,000 square feet of space in and around Culver City, including a 128,000-square-foot building that it leases in a neighboring property at Washington and National. Currently, the company employ more than 1,500 people in Los Angeles through Apple TV+, Apple Music, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The new rules call for staffing equivalent to 3.48 hours per resident per day, just over half an hour of it coming from registered nurses.

The Culver City team would be expanded to more than 3,000 employees by 2026, Apple said at the time, and Apple would build a larger campus to house them. Apple said it would erect two new mid-rise buildings connected by a shared wall on multiple parcels in Culver City and Los Angeles surrounded by Venice, National and Washington boulevards. The parcels are now mostly occupied by small retail and light industrial buildings.

The government said that means a facility with 100 residents would need two or three registered nurses and 10 or 11 nurse aides as well as two additional nurse staff per shift to meet the new standards. Harris announced the rules in Washington before she flew to LaCrosse, Wisconsin to meet with nursing home care employees. In the battleground state, the Democratic vice president also held a campaign event focused on abortion rights. With trees that were first planted in 1867, Parrish Pioneer Ranch is one of the oldest orchards in Southern California. There’s the Old Parrish Barn, selling everything from apple butter to gourmet chocolates, a toy shop called Granny’s Attic, and Parrish House Antiques, which showcases findings from the original farmhouse.

Loosely adapted from Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” Anyone But You stars Glen Powell as Ben, a finance bro who has an incredible first date with Bea (Sydney Sweeney), a law student uncertain about her career. When she realizes she made a mistake and returns to his apartment, she overhears Ben saying that she is a “nothing” to him. Apple said it removed WhatsApp and Threads from its China app offerings Friday on Beijing’s orders, amid technological tensions between the U.S. and China.

The project, which would span a roughly 4.5-acre site at the southeast corner of the intersection, would straddle the border between Culver City and the City of Los Angeles. The completed development would include sufficient space to house 2,400 occupants, as well production spaces for multimedia content production. Other on-site uses would include a cafeteria, coffee stations, and space for an employee shuttle service. In 1963, The Apple House Restaurant & Gift Shop began in the small community of Linden, Virginia. Today, just as then, we remain a family business serving friends and travelers from around the globe.

Even business cards that aren’t actually cards—for instance, combs, toothbrushes or pens with contact information printed on them—are more likely to be kept around much longer. A less-functional gimmick may be fun for a moment, but may be quickly forgotten. This graphic designer’s business card is simple, charming and stands out in a crowd. Again, we're not sure people will hold on to it, but they'll remember who gave them chocolate. The hair and make-up industry is highly competitive, so it makes sense to stand out from the crowd.

Keep the Color Scheme Legible

Designed to resemble a classic take-a-number ticket, this inventive business card was devised for Dutch agency Counter Creatives by designer and art director Valery Overhoff. The compact format and unconventional shape called for a creative use of space, and Overhoff manages to feature multiple typefaces and both vertical and horizontal text. More Great Features of the Business Card Maker

To ensure a professional layout, start with a clear plan of your content, use a legible font, and leave ample white space for readability. Additionally, make sure your design is aligned with your brand and includes a call to action. In business card design, you should prioritize clarity, color, consistency, and crispness.

What is a Business Card?

Conversations struck up on the treadmill, at the coffee counter or even on public transit may lead to business opportunities. Make sure you always have a stack of cards in your car, wallet, briefcase or purse. Ensure your business cards are flawless by double-, triple- and quadruple-checking before sending to print. The chances are you will want or need to order 100 to 200 cards (if not many more) and any error means you’ll have to start over. The line between functional business cards and hilarious gimmicks can be a tough one to find, but even the silliest of business cards can still get the job done. Functional business cards can have serious longevity if your customers can actually use them.

The ingenious card was created by designer Richard C Evans and produced by Elegante Press in Lithuania. Just follow the instructions and the kiss-cut card can be folded into a miniature of the iconic 1934 plywood armchair designed by Gerald Summers. New York City-based illustrator Gong Kantapon took an unconventional approach to get his business card noticed. Taking a leaf from informal street advertising, Kantapon covered a poster of a woman in mini business cards that passers-by could peel off and take away.

Before joining the team, she was a Content Producer at Fit Small Business where she served as an editor and strategist covering small business marketing content. She is a former Google Tech Entrepreneur and she holds an MSc in International Marketing from Edinburgh Napier University. In this day and age, double-sided business cards give any business a leg-up by being more eye-catching and also easily findable amongst a large stack.

Canadian advertising studio WAX came up with this sophisticated buisness card design for cabinet-maker Brad Haniak of BDH Millwork. It's a simple and effective use of something that would otherwise go to waste. Created by Techkeys, the printed circuit board doubles up as a computer keyboard thanks to an on-board re-programmable ATMEGA16U2.

These aspects will foster credibility and align with your brand’s identity and values. These business cards from Confetti Studio combine two powerful elements -- punchy orange card stock and gold embossed metallics -- to a create a mesmerizing and modern effect. One side of the card is completely covered in gilded speckles, while the other side displays the agency's logo and contact information -- also gilded. In a nod to their native L.A., Omelet created business cards centered around sleek city imagery. The photographs are artfully silhouetted by their company logo -- which if you look closely, is actually an ambigram.

Cruises From Vancouver, British Columbia Cruise Port

vancouver cruise

In most places, the boundary between untamed nature and urban civilisation is pretty well defined, with major cities being strictly wilderness-free zones. However, Vancouver does things a little differently, and is a great place to come if you like your cities intertwined with the great outdoors. Positioned between the snow-dusted North Shore Mountains and the rich, blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver blends big-city sophistication with small-town charm.

Early Beautiful City Tour

Vancouver also boasts a number of excellent art museums, with the best of these – such as the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Contemporary Art Gallery – being located just south of Stanley Park in the downtown area. If you’re looking for a cheaper cruise, sail in May or September/October when there are fewer people sailing. The peak months are June, July, and August when most of the Alaska cruises operate.

Transfer from Vancouver Airport to Cruise Terminal from $19.50 pp

This 8-day Seine River cruise loops from Paris to Rouen in Normandy, giving guests a glorious sense of the historic river that influenced French art, culture, cuisine, and history.
